This inscription was recorded in an earlier survey completed
in 1971 by Miss Jenny Brown and Miss Margaret Warren.

This stone is erected by William Arnot in memory of his daughter Janet who departed this life 22nd June 1816 aged 23. Also William and Robert who died young. The said William Arnot died 20th March 1825 aged 62 and Elizabeth Cockburn his wife who died 4th November 1826 aged 72 years.
