Thomas Porteous was a Farm Labourer, son of William Porteous, Shepherd, and Mary King. Fortune Bank is in Athelstaneford Parish. Helen Goodall Redpath was the daughter of James Redpath, Forester, and Euphemia Goodall. Her daughter Mary King Porteous was married to George Bolton who was a Postman at Ayton, Berwickshire. Standingstone is in Whittingehame Parish.
