James McCarter died 19 July 1869 at Beesknowe Farm where he was the Shepherd. He was the son of John McCarter, an Agricultural Labourer, and Jane Downie. Esther Drysdale was born in Stenton and died 6 February 1895 at Beltonford, Dunbar. She was the daughter of Robert Drysdale, Farm Servant, and Jane Downie.
