February 1842; aged 52 years.
Also MARY his Daughter, who died
in April 1825: aged 21 months.
Also RICHARD his Son, who died
in July 1834; aged 2 years.
HIS Son JAMES died 27th Oct. 1866 aged 36 years.
HIS Son ALEX. died 25th Feb. 1883 aged 59 years.
HIS Wife MARY DARGE died 22nd Dec 1883.
aged 87 years, and CLARA his Daughter
died 14th NOV 1889, aged 66 years.
ANN HIS DAUGHTER DIED 4TH NOV 1903.
AGED 65 YEARS.
MARY HIS DAUGHTER DIED 26TH MAY 1910
AGED 82 YEARS.
RICHARD HIS SON DIED 13TH NOV 1915
AGED 78 YEARS.


James Cockburn, died 1842, was an Elder of the Kirk, one of four at the time the present church was replaced in 1828. He lived at Beesknowe. James Cockburn, died 1866, was a Grocer who married Margaret Hutton. Alexander Cockburn was an Official in the Inland Revenue. He married Catherine Dick. Mary Darge was the daughter of John Darge, Tailor, and Mary Currie. Clara Cockburn, a Housekeeper, died unmarried. Ann Cockburn was the wife of William Henderson, Boot and Shoemaker [See No 177]. Mary Cockburn was the wife of David Jamie, a Wood Merchant, and Richard Cockburn became a Gardener.
