Alexander Stewart was the son of William Stewart, Shepherd, and Agnes Ballantyne. He was a member of the Founding Committee set up to establish Stenton Bowling Club in 1876. Euphemia Marshall was the daughter of John Marshall, Farmer and Road Surveyor, and Euphemia Redpath. Euphemia Stewart died unmarried.
