David Logan was Minister of Stenton from 1823 to 1849. Previously he was Minister at Innerwick. He was the Minister when the new church was opened in 1829. He was presented to Dirleton in 1834 but withdrew his acceptance ‘in consequence of a factious spirit among the parishioners.’ He was the Preses of the Stenton Parish Library in 1825. An entry in the Mortcloth Dues says: ‘27 May 1849 Mortcloth charges for the Revd David Logan Minister of Stenton who was buried in Stenton Churchyard on 28th May 1849’. He married Emilia, daughter of Colin McLaurin, an Edinburgh advocate.
