Hugh Mackenzie was the son of James Skinner Mackenzie, Minister of the Church of Scotland, and Elizabeth Rachel Woodman. Until 1921 he was Assistant and Successor to the Rev. George Marjoribanks. He was previously at Naauwpoort, South Africa and Mousewald, Dumfriesshire. He was author of ‘The Churches of Pitcox and Stenton’. Mary Wyllie Woodman Ross was the daughter of Francis Ross, Church Minister, and Elizabeth McGillivray. There is a memorial to Dr Mackenzie in the Church [See No C10].
