Thomas Marjoribanks was the son of Alexander Marjoribanks, a Landed Proprietor, and Katherine Laurie. He was the Minister at Stenton from 1849 to 1868. Previously he was Minister at Lochmaben. His Will was registered at Haddington on 2 March 1868. Mary Cook was the daughter of George Cook, Professor of Moral Philosophy at St Andrews, and Diana Shanks. A window in Stenton Church was inserted in the Marjoribanks' memory [See No C4]. There is a brass memorial in the Church to their grandson Alexander Marjoribanks, 52nd Sikhs (Frontier Force) who died of cholera at Datta Khel, India on 28 September 1914 [See No C1]. He is also named on the Stenton War Memorial. He was born at Stenton Manse, the son of George Marjoribanks, Minister at Stenton from 1868 to 1921, and Elizabeth Leslie. There is a window in the Church presented in memory of the Rev. George Marjoribanks [See No C9] and the Church Bell has an inscription dedicated to his wife [See No C11].
