Thomas Watt was a Blacksmith in Stenton, the son of Andrew Watt, Gamekeeper, and Mary Turnbull. Helen Miller Brown was the daughter of Thomas Brown, Blacksmith, and Elizabeth Simpson. William Watt was also a Blacksmith in Stenton and died unmarried.
