Walter Angus graduated from Edinburgh University in 1914. He served with the 2/4th Border Regiment on the Indian Frontier 1915 - 1916 and in Mesopotamia and Persia, 1916 - 1919. After training for the Ministry he ministered in Edinburgh, Old Deer, Aberdeen, and Broughty Ferry before becoming the Minister at Stenton.
