Robert Ewart, rabbit trapper, of Sunnyside farm, Prestonkirk, died as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was well known in the district as a fine sportsman who played left-half for several years with East Linton Corinthians and was held in high regard by his clubmates and players of other county clubs.
