Jonathan Hall came to East Linton in 1866 as National Bank of Scotland agent, Bank House, High Street. He was a J. P., clerk to Prestonkirk School Board and secretary to the Drill Hall Trustees. He took a great interest in the Volunteers and was Captain of the East Linton Company.
