East Linton Town Clock "Jessie" was installed in 1888, and was named after Jessie Cowe, the daughter of the local butcher. At that time Jessie was the sweetheart of Bob Sharp, the son of Robert Sharp, the proprietor of the Railway Hotel (see G319).
